We are living in a world where the stories unfolding are too extraordinary to be fiction; this work will aim to capture four women’s remarkable truths of resilience and transformation over a 1-year time capsule.

The Difference a Year Makes will be a dance and digital work that presents 4 real stories of women from different walks of life who have simultaneously experienced a transformation over the same 12-month period.

Verbatim stories gathered from an extensive interview process will be weaved into a script to present 4 lives that collide and bare relevance on one another.

The show will explore relevant and relatable perspectives from women of all ages and their unique experiences related to class, rising costs of living and the unstable political climate across the UK and beyond.

In the spaces between the stories the show will reveal positive perspectives about how we are all connected in our struggles, ambitions and dreams despite our differences. The show will celebrate female solidarity through stories of strength and resilience.

Told through the embodied languages of four diverse performers the cast will represent reflections of and for different communities speaking the words of real people in their exactitude.
